…is enjoyed all over the world, by people in every situation. Some cultures revere humor, while others pay it little attention, yet prevalence of humor is a constant throughout civilization. Lots of research and inquiry has gone into laughter and smiling, which are reflexes responding to humor; not so much has been focused on the spontaneous ignition of humor in the psyche.
Each person’s sense of humor is as unique as one’s sense of beauty, and just as valid. How humor occurs is a splendid question to explore, and how it illuminates our personalities is important, too. And why do we have senses of humor in the first place? What good does it do us, as a species? -- as individuals?
